If you are investing in a new air conditioner for your home, congratulations! We know it can be an overwhelming project, but it’s also exciting to know that you’ll have a brand-new air conditioner in place to keep your home comfortable all summer long. The question is, how do you prepare for your AC installation appointment?
You can keep reading to learn our tips for preparing ahead of an air conditioning installation in Broomfield. If you have any questions ahead of your appointment, you can always give our team a call for assistance.
Clear Your Calendar
Your first step in preparing for a new AC installation is clearing your calendar for the day of the appointment. It’s a good idea for you to be on hand in case we need to access a different area of your home or have to make adjustments to the original installation plan for some reason.
Although a typical AC installation will take 4-8 hours, it’s a good idea to be available for the entire day just in case an unforeseen obstacle makes the installation process take all day.
Make Space
When we first visit your home to complete an assessment and talk to you about your upcoming installation appointment, will also review some steps to expect during the installation process. Any areas that are near HVAC components need to be clear for our team to work in. For example, you can move furniture and other belongings away from the space around your central indoor and outdoor units.
Our team will remove the old AC equipment and replace them with new ones. This requires a lot of different tools and often multiple team members to do the work. We need an adequate space to work effectively. Keep in mind that we also have to check the air vents throughout your home and we need to be able to reach the vents in each room as well.
Protect Your Belongings
Another reason to move belongings out of our work areas is to protect them from damage. Examples of this include paintings or photographs that you have hanging on the walls near your central air conditioning unit where we will be working.
Make Accommodations for Kids and Pets
If you have children and pets, we need them to be out of the way during the entire installation. Curiosity is natural for both children and animals, but AC installation can be dangerous for both. You can secure pets in a single room of your home or entertain children in a space away from where our team will be working on the installation. If that’s not possible, we encourage you to ask a friend or family member if they can keep your children or pets during the day of the installation for safety reasons.
